Christy Chung's 16-Yr-Old Daughter Has The Looks & The Popularity, But Does She Want To Enter Showbiz?

Hong Kong actress Christy Chung's youngest daughter, Cayla Zhang, 16, has been turning heads with her good looks, and it's not hard to see why.

Standing at 173cm, the teen already boasts 240K followers on Instagram and more than 300K on Xiaohongshu. Not bad for someone who's still in school.

Cayla recently attended a fashion brand event in Hong Kong, looking every bit like a real-life Barbie in a pink strapless dress.

Her famous mum, 56, also showed up to cheer her on.

Videos of Cayla at the event had netizens gushing over her looks.

"Even as a woman, I'm mesmerised by her," wrote one.

Another likened her to a Korean cosmetics model, while one declared: "She's just as beautiful as her mum was back in the day."

Some even hailed her as one of the most beautiful second-generation stars.

With the looks, height and a growing fanbase, surely a showbiz debut is on the cards?

Well, not so fast.

Speaking to Hong Kong media at the event, Cayla, who was born and raised in Beijing, said she still has two more years of school before university.

"I think it's a little too early to say. I'm only 16, and I don't think I'm particularly mature yet. I'll wait until I'm older before deciding what direction I want to take."

And there's no pressure from Mum to follow in her footsteps either.

"Mum told me it's entirely up to my interests. If I want to pursue it, I can work hard towards it myself. But she also wants me to wait until I'm more mature and have figured out which path I want to take."

While Cayla isn't sure about acting and admits singing isn't her strong suit, modelling is something she enjoys.

She loves getting glammed up and taking beautiful photos, and is no stranger to the runway either. In 2019, Cayla and her older sister Jaden modelled outfits for a children's designer fashion boutique.

Cayla has also auditioned for acting roles, though she admitted she wasn't taking them too seriously.

Christy revealed that Cayla even filmed a production when she was six, although it was never released.

"She's interested in studying something related to business. But if there's a really suitable project or movie role, I'd let her give it a try," said Christy.

Cayla is the youngest of Christy's three daughters.

The actress shares Cayla and Jaden, 18, with her second ex-husband, Taiwanese music producer Jon Yen. Her eldest daughter, Yasmine Ross, 28, is from her first marriage to British businessman Glen Ross.

Christy is now married to Chinese actor Shawn Zhang, 44.
