Just look at former BIGBANG member Seungri, whose reported marriage and impending fatherhood have recently made headlines.

But he's hardly the first celebrity to spring two major life updates on fans in one go.

Here are five celebrity couples who surprised everyone with wedding bells and baby news in quick succession

Seungri

The former BigBang member, 35, made headlines on October  28 after reports emerged that he had quietly registered his marriage to a non-celebrity woman in her 20s.

His wife is reportedly expecting their first child, a boy, in January 2027.

Interestingly, the pregnancy news surfaced first, with initial reports suggesting the couple planned to marry after their baby was born.

But Seungri subsequently clarified that they were already legally married, and denied speculation that they had tied the knot because of the pregnancy and said they had no plans to hold a separate wedding ceremony for now.

Ruby Lin & Wallace Huo

Taiwanese stars Ruby Lin and Wallace Huo certainly didn't waste much time once they took their relationship public.

The two had been friends for around a decade before announcing their romance in May 2016.

Just two months later, they were married in Bali on July 31.

Naturally, their whirlwind wedding sparked pregnancy rumours, which turned out to be true.

Ruby subsequently confirmed she was expecting, and the couple welcomed their daughter in January 2017, less than six months after walking down the aisle.

From longtime friends to lovers, newlyweds and parents in less than a year.

Talk about making up for lost time.

Mario Ho & Ming Xi

When Mario Ho, son of late Macau casino tycoon Stanley Ho, proposed to Chinese supermodel Ming Xi in May 2019, it naturally made the headlines.

But the couple had another surprise in store.

They registered their marriage in July 2019, and just three months later, announced the birth of their first child, a son.

And this wasn't just any new addition to the family.

Interestingly, Mario and Ming Xi only held their formal wedding celebration in France in June 2026, seven years after registering their marriage and after welcoming two children.

Their romance had already attracted plenty of attention, especially after Aimee stepped away from a television drama, citing health reasons.

The sudden wedding only fuelled pregnancy speculation, and it wasn't long before the couple confirmed they were expecting.

Aimee welcomed their first son in December 2013, just six months after their wedding.

So within the same year, the couple went from dating to married life and parenthood.
