Not Just Pretty Faces: 10 GE2025 Candidates With Brains And Looks

We know, we know, the General Elections are not a beauty pageant but looking good can't hurt right?

In GE2025, there are candidates who not only have the brains but also the beauty and the brawn.

Here are the lookers of this elections along with their impressive credentials because, hey, they are just not pretty faces.

Alexis Dang

The 39-year-old senior director of global ad tech firm Teads is part of the four-member Workers' Party (WP) team contesting for Punggol GRC.

While many netizens have said she’s "pretty enough to be an actress", Alexis is far from just an attractive face. She will receive her master’s degree in business administration from Shanghai Jiao Tong University this July.

Marshall Lim

People's Action Party (PAP) newcomer Marshall Lim is a criminal lawyer contesting in Hougang SMC.

A partner in private law firm Martin & Partners, the dashing 38-year-old delivered his speech on Nomination Day in fluent English, Mandarin, and Teochew.

Marshall was the Deputy Public Prosecutor in the Attorney-General’s Chambers, and the Assistant Chief Public Defender in the Public Defender’s Office, where he represented those of limited means facing charges in criminal courts. He also led legal awareness talks for teachers and students in schools.

Siti Alia Binte Abdul Rahim Mattar

The gentle-looking and pretty 43-year-old WP candidate for Punggol GRC is a legal counsel in a multinational corporation. The National University of Singapore law graduate, who has three kids aged 18, 15 and 12, used to serve as an in-house counsel at the Monetary Authority of Singapore.

Darryl Lo

The 28-year-old is one of two independent candidates in GE2025. The cute boy-next-door is a Singapore Management University law graduate and he previously worked in the tech sector. He quit his job in January to campaign for the elections and is contesting in Radin Mas SMC.

Bernadette Giam

The 38-year-old runs local F&B company Creative Eateries alongside her sister, and is in charge of strategic initiatives and business development.

Bernadette, who is part of PAP's team contesting in Sengkang GRC, turned heads on Nom Day with her cool demeanour and striking looks when she delivered her speech in Tamil.

The NUS alum spent the last 10 years contributing towards causes aimed at empowering women, youth, and seniors.

Vere Nathan

Contesting for Tampines GRC as part of the People's Power Party (PPP) team is the strapping Vere Nathan, 26. An operations executive in a landscaping company, he also had stints as a nature guide, self-defense instructor, and a farm founder.

Vere's education background has not been made known to the public, and netizens have been leaving comments on his TikTok asking for more personal info, including this comment most of us will agree with: “He’s quite cute”.

Eileen Chong

Besides grabbing the attention of many with her “girl-next-door beauty”, Eileen, 33, a WP candidate for Tampines GRC, has an equally eye-catching resume.

She works at registered charity organisation Asia Philanthropy Circle and was a government scholar, who studied in China and South Korea. She got her bachelor’s degree in international politics from Peking University, and a master’s degree in Global Affairs and Policy from Yonsei University.

Before switching to the social sector, Ms Chong was a diplomat with the Singapore Ministry of Foreign Affairs for seven years, where she served as First Secretary at the Singapore Embassy in Beijing from 2020 to 2023.

Shawn Loh

The boyish 38-year-old is the deputy group managing director of Singapore-based investment company, Commonwealth Capital Group.

He is part of PAP’s team contesting Jalan Besar GRC and was a civil servant with the Ministry of Finance, where he served as the director of the national SG60 Budget.

He became a father at 26, has four kids... so who you calling daddy?

Hazlina Abdul Halim

Hazlina, 40, is a newcomer to PAP’s East Coast GRC team. After her appearance on Nom Day, a viral TikTok described her as looking like she had “a wind machine blowing at her hair”.

Hazlina was a presenter for Malay news, an interpreter and radio announcer, and also served as an assignments editor at CNA.

Now the senior vice president of global CEO Advisory Consultancy Firm, she was also president of non-profit organisation Singapore Muslim Women’s Association (PPIS).

Faisal Abdul Aziz

The dentist and clinical director of Nuffield Dental is a member of PAP’s Aljunied GRC team. Doesn't the 37-year-old with the megawatt smile look fine?
