"Full-Time Girlfriend" Claims Her Entire Outfit Costs S$150K, But M'sian Influencer Cathryn Li Suspects It's All Fake

Have you ever wondered how it feels to walk around town wearing hundreds of thousands of dollars?

Malaysian content creator Sam Wong interviewed a woman at the TRX mall in Kuala Lumpur who revealed that her outfit cost 500K ringgit (S$150K).

The video has since been seen more than 4.4 million times.

At first, we naively wondered how she managed to rack up that amount, especially when she revealed that her Taobao-bought top only cost 30 ringgit (S$9), while her pants cost 40 ringgit (S$12).

However, she started adding on her various trinkets and the numbers soon added up.

She proudly showed off her diamond ring that has a price tag of 30K ringgit (S$9,042) while the necklace, earrings, and multiple bracelets from Van Cleef & Arpels cost a total of 73K ringgit (S$22k)

The woman also gushed over her new 50K ringgit (S$15K) pink Chanel bag while boasting about the most expensive item on her – a gold Rolex watch with a hefty 300K ringgit (S$90k) price tag.

She ended off her show-and-tell talking about her Vincci shoes which were a little more down-to-earth, costing 130 ringgit (S$39).

When asked how she can afford it, she unabashedly replied that she is a “full-time girlfriend”.

Revealing that she met her boyfriend on sugarbook.net, a dating app, and was told she didn’t need to work not long after getting together.

When asked if she was a sugar baby, the woman says she can be called that “but I prefer that you call me a full-time girlfriend”.

According to the woman, the most expensive item she bought (or gifted?) was a Mercedes Benz G63.

A quick check online revealed prices for the model start at 1.79 million ringgit (S$539k).

Of course, the woman unabashedly shared her standards should someone ask her out on a date,

For starters, she can’t stand men who picks her up in a Myvi (a Malaysian-manufactured car) and brings her to cheap restaurants, and don’t own a black (credit) card.

So, what counts as a cheap meal? Anything below 2K ringgit (S$602)

Seriously?

While many netizens ooh-ed and ah-ed, others laughed at how she could only afford to buy her clothes from Taobao once she spent all her money on jewellery and bags.

Some green-eyed folks also acidly commented that luxury items were fake.

This isn’t the first time Sam’s content has been accused of featuring people wearing fake goods.

Malaysian influencer Cathryn Li was triggered enough to jump into the comments surmising that the content creator features people who don fake luxury goods.

Saying she had reached out to him privately, but she only got a reply after she went public on social media about her suspicions.

Cathryn says Sam insists that that everyone’s luxury goods were authentic though he ignored her when she pushed for receipts.

Won’t it be weird to ask interviewees for receipts of their purchases?

According to Cathryn, Sam veered from being questioned on the authencity of her interviewees and started sounding her out to appear in one of his videos.

She then goes on to say she suspected that this was his way of gaining views.

Considering Cathryn is no stranger to controversy, we think an episode with both Sam and her would be a match made in heaven.

Content creator Sam Wong got her to share how much her entire outfit costs.
